Maggie MacDonald,
Toxic Program Manager

Maggie is a campaigner, writer and musician originally from Cornwall, Ontario. Her interest in all things toxic developed at an early age, when she lived next to a textile mill- "No Trespassing" was one of the first things she ever learned to read. As a grad student in Social and Political Thought at York University, Maggie studied the epistemology of ignorance- how barriers to scientific research are erected, accidentally and purposefully. She is the author of the novel "Kill the Robot," the climate change-themed musical "The Rat King," and the forthcoming musical "Paper Laced With Gold" which will be staged as part of Harbourfront's HATCH festival in 2012. Maggie has successfully detoxed her makeup collection, proving you can lose the lead without losing the red. She is now working to rid your personal care products of carcinogens and endocrine-disrupting chemicals, once and for all. (Photo by Jennifer Rowsom)
