Aaron O’Quinn
Program Manager, Government Relations
A love for running, hiking, and skiing anchors Aaron’s love for nature in activity and movement. Having moved to Ottawa in 2012 to earn a Bachelors Degree in English at the University of Ottawa, Aaron fell in love with what this city has to offer and has since then called it home. A love for politics led him to work on Parliament Hill as an MP’s Assistant, before obtaining a MA in Film Studies from Carleton University. Aaron’s experience spans academia, the nonprofit sector, and private consulting, where he worked with First Nations governments and equity deserving groups to amplify their voices with Canadian decision makers and advance reconciliation initiatives. Aaron brings that same passion to his work with Environmental Defence, where he advocates for robust and urgent action on climate change from the federal government.
