Senior Manager, Alberta Energy Transition
Stephen is an experienced campaigner and leader in Canada’s environmental movement, with more than thirty years of practice winning large landscape conservation battles and advocating for a clean energy transition across the country. Before joining the Environmental Defence team, Stephen was the Principal of Highwatermark Strategy and Communications, Program Director for the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative, Senior Development Officer at Royal Roads University, and co-founder of and Executive Director at Wildcanada.net. Stephen is the author of sixteen books and teaches photography and writing in Canmore, Alberta where he resides with his wife Jenn, and two adult children. Stephen is an experienced political strategist who loves to hike, backpack, paddle and run.
