Elinor Whidden
Executive Coordinator
Elinor’s love of nature began with family camping trips, but was solidified during her 20s when she embarked on long canoe trips in the far north. She received a BA in Canadian/Environmental Studies from Trent University, a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and a MFA from SUNY at Buffalo. In 2007, Elinor attended the Walking and Art residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts where she discovered her persona Mountain Man. This began over a decade of portaging cars and using myths about the Western Frontier to question why our colonial history continues to repeat itself. She enjoys playing hockey and is excited to bring her creative vision and passion for making change to the team at Environmental Defence.
