Increasingly, oil and gas companies claim to be part of the solution to the climate crisis—but the reality is very different. This analysis of the current climate commitments of eight of the largest integrated oil and fossil gas companies—BP, Chevron, Eni, Equinor, ExxonMobil, Repsol, Shell, and Total (the “oil majors”)— and find that none of the evaluated companies’ plans come close to alignment with the Paris Agreement.
