The consultation period concluded on March 7, 2018 and our petition is no longer active. We anticipate the province will review all the feedback received and bring forward a revised proposal for Greenbelt expansion.

Background
In December 2017, the province launched a consultation period to invite feedback on their proposed Greenbelt expansion areas. This was a crucial step towards identifying vulnerable water systems in our region, but key headwaters, moraines, wetlands and recharge areas are missing from the provincial proposal.
With the support of 120 groups across Ontario, and thousands of letters sent from active citizens, we told the government that their proposal doesn’t go far enough.
