Residents, activists, and politicians have repeatedly fought to protect Toronto's lakeshore from jet noise and pollution—prioritizing balance and sustainability at the waterfront. A 1983 tripartite agreement formally banned commercial jet traffic—but now, once again, the jet debate is taking off and it's up to the federal government to put public interest first, and say ‘no’ to jets. That's why NoJetsTO and Environmental Defence have partnered to restart the efforts to save Toronto's waterfront and the Toronto Islands.
