For March Break many parents in the Greater Toronto Area are looking for activities the whole family can enjoy. Look no further than Ontario’s Greenbelt! From hiking and cross country skiing to tobogganing and skating, the Greenbelt has so much to offer everyone at any age.

There are so many family-friendly activities in the Greenbelt that a full list would be super long. But, here’s a short list to inspire you to have some Greenbelt fun this March Break:

For a great day out for the whole family, look no further than Albion Hills Conservation Area. Located near Caledon, Albion Hills has wonderful cross-country skiing trails, tobogganing and skating. You don’t even need to worry about equipment because rentals are available onsite. Warm up between adventures in the heated chalet, which conveniently has a snack bar.

Looking for something with a bit more speed? Downhill skiing or snowboarding at Hockley Valley Resort might be the way to go. Located near Orangeville, Hockley Valley offers a family Ski and Stay package. If you want to brush up on your skills, there are a variety of lessons that can help you become a whiz on the slopes. And if there’s no snow in the city, not to worry. This resort has snow-making equipment. (If skiing isn’t your cup of tea, check out the gorgeous spa, where relaxing massages await.)

If you’re searching for an adventure closer to the east end of the GTA, Ski Dagmar might be perfect for your family. Located north of Whitby in the Greenbelt, Ski Dagmar offers cross-country and downhill skiing as well as snowboarding. There are March Break specials and even a March Break camp.

If hiking is more your style, you’re in luck. Hiking is offered year-round on several beautiful trails in the Greenbelt. Whether you’re looking for a short easy hike or a longer, more challenging hiking experience, the Oak Ridges Trail has something for every hiker. The Oak Ridges trail has more than 300 km of amazing trails to choose from. Enjoy hiking in a group? Check out the schedule for guided hikes.

And don’t forget that as the weather starts to warm up, the great Canadian maple syrup begins to flow. Maple Sugar festivals are beginning and the wonderful treats that await are just a short drive from the GTA. Enjoy everything maple; maple sugar, maple cookies, maple fudge, just to name a few.

So this March Break, explore the Greenbelt with your family. From hitting the slopes to eating maple delights, there’s something for everyone in the Greenbelt!
