About The Submission:

This submission to the federal Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development, in the context of the committee’s study on the proposed ban on single-used plastics, supports the government’s proposed plan to regulate plastics and points out the environmental and economic benefits of shifting from single-use plastics. Reducing use of plastics, shifting to reuse systems for packaging and other single-use items, and improving mechanical recycling will all serve to stem the flow of plastic pollution and create jobs.
