About The Report:
In Canada, various protests against pipelines and other oil and gas infrastructure projects is well documented. Some Canadians may feel like the country’s oil and gas industry is being unfairly targeted by protesters.
But Canadians may not be aware that fossil fuel projects are meeting with resistance around the world. Opposition has led to blockades, protests, litigation and an investment chill worldwide, from Australia to Colombia, from India to the USA.
Canadians may also not be aware that while Canada produces 5 per cent of all the oil in the world, Canadian environmental groups only receive 1 per cent of international philanthropic funding for climate change work.
