About the letter:
In this letter submitted to Ministers Dabrusin and Joly, Environmental Defence and its partners urge the federal government to stop delaying and immediately launch consultations on Canada’s proposed tailpipe emission standards. The signatories warn that months of regulatory inaction is undermining Canada’s 2035 EV goals, putting over 130,000 jobs at risk, deterring major investments, and costing Canadian families money. We are calling on the government to adopt stricter European-style standards and treat EV policy as a core part of Canada’s economic and climate strategy.
