About the letter:
Fourteen environmental organizations have signed a letter expressing opposition to the proposal to classify waste incinerators in Ontario as "renewable energy" facilities.
This proposal is a false solution to a poorly framed problem. The letter signatories oppose definition changes to biomass that would redefine incineration of organics in municipal waste as “renewable energy.”
