About The Report:

The Ontario government says it can reduce greenhouse gas emissions without putting a price on carbon pollution. This report examines if this promise holds up. What has the province done – or not done – to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?

In November 2018, the province released the Made-In-Ontario Environment Plan. The plan prioritizes some key areas to reduce carbon pollution. But after nearly a year, Ontario has taken very little action to reduce carbon emissions in the province. Ontario will need to take much stronger action and act more quickly in order to meet the targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions set out in its plan.
