About The Submission:
Single-use plastics are extremely problematic in that they are mostly not recycled or reused, can contain toxic additives, and pose a very long-term threat to eco-systems, habitats, and wildlife once discarded. Production, use and disposal of plastics also make a significant contribution to climate change. We are very much in favour of regulations to ban harmful single-use plastics. We make the following comments and recommendations on the draft regulations in the spirit of ensuring the bans are expedient, effective and as comprehensive as possible to deal with the threat posed by plastic pollution
