Large Pickup Truck Canada

About The Backgrounder:

In Canada, the increasing popularity of SUVs and light-duty trucks in the passenger vehicle market is hindering sustainability goals, particularly transportation decarbonization. These larger vehicles consume more energy per kilometer, emit higher greenhouse gases, and pose greater safety risks. Since 2005, emissions from larger vehicles have been Canada’s top transportation emissions source. Though technological advancements and the shift to EVs have lowered fuel consumption per kilometer by 15% overall since 2010, nearly 40% of these gains have been offset by the growing preference for larger vehicles.
