Brenda holds a degree in Political Science from Queen’s University, where she focused on international politics and human rights. After graduating, she came to the environment as the bedrock to all other rights. Protecting the environment is essential to ensuring access to clean water, nutritious food, secure housing, and the opportunity for all people and communities to thrive. She believes meaningful change begins at the local level, through engaging communities with curiosity and respect, and with creative and accessible communications.

In her spare time, Brenda enjoys reading nonfiction, baking for friends and family, and hunting for one-of-a-kind vintage and antique finds. Although she has lived in Vaughan since the age of eight, she only recently discovered the joy of exploring local forest trails, and can now be found in her neighbourhood taking pictures of every flower, bird and set of tracks she encounters along the way.
