Meet Your Regional Coordinator

Maria is a master's degree candidate in Environment and Business at the University of Waterloo. She has a passion for environmental education and advocacy. Maria studied environmental governance at the University of Guelph and was the co-president of the environmental governance society, where she learned the importance of intersectional advocacy and systems thinking.

As an avid volunteer, Maria believes in the power of community engagement and connection. She hopes to inspire and empower more people to get to know their neighbours and get involved in Waterloo Region!

On an average week, you can find Maria studying (and drinking several iced americanos) at Holly's Neighbourhood Cafe, taking a heels class at Underdog Dance, or hiking the Trans Canada Trail.
