MEET YOUR COORDINATOR
Carissa moved to the York Region six years ago with her young family. She is passionate about environmental sustainability and community engagement. With a background in education, conservation and community development, Carissa has come to understand the importance of connecting people to their environment. A career highlight for Carissa was working with Jane Goodall on the Roots & Shoots program across Canada and overseeing some of the organization’s conservation and community development initiatives in Africa. Carissa and her family can often be found discovering new hiking trails in the region and attending various cultural events. She looks forward to helping families of the York Region become engaged in their local community.
