When brushing your teeth, cleaning your house, or sitting on your couch, the last thing you want to worry about is toxic chemicals. We think so, too. That’s why we’re working with manufacturers as well as provincial and federal governments to phase out and ban chemicals that are linked to serious health issues like cancer, obesity, asthma.
The best way to get rid of nasty chemicals is to get them banned. Since 2005, we have educated the public and have worked with government and industry to remove harmful ingredients from products.
We continue to make headway with a number of chemicals of concern like phthalates, parabens, flame retardants and triclosan. A growing number of companies are taking these chemicals out of their products, but they are still widely used in a number of products on store shelves.
