My composition highlights non traditional plastic consumed in everyday life. Gum waste approximately equals 100000 tons each year (justoneocean) and is increasing. Gum never decomposes and destroys wildlife as animals may mistake pieces for food. When people consume the food they will be consuming the gum as well as toxins. Plastic pollution is destroying our world in numerous ways and time is running out to lessen the effects. My solution to this issue is to start by taking small steps, such as gum. By raising awareness I believe we can cut down and eliminate plastic to make this world a better place.
