Ashita Parekh is an award-winning urban designer with over six years of experience advancing equitable, sustainable, and resilient communities across North America. She holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Urban Design from the Bartlett School of Architecture (University College London). Her work lies at the intersection of design, equity and climate resilience — crafting public spaces and policies that are inclusive, planet-first and community-centered.

Ashita currently serves as a Senior Urban Designer at the City of Richmond Hill, where she helps shape policies for complete communities. She is also the CEO and Co-founder of nōmi, a dating app focused on inclusivity, self-discovery, and intentional connections. Through both her professional and entrepreneurial work, she brings a deep understanding of how thoughtful design can support personal and collective well-being.

Beyond her design practice, Ashita contributes to federal-level advocacy — supporting policy development and championing the increased representation of women in politics.

Ashita is a published author and frequent speaker, passionate about future-ready cities that are community-first, resilient and designed to value biodiversity as much as human life — leaving behind a planet where future generations can thrive.
