About The Backgrounder:
Over the past 15 years, the issue of mandatory labelling of hazardous substances in consumer products has repeatedly been raised as a public issue and a top regulatory reform priority among environmental and health organizations. This backgrounder shows that the government’s own research makes a clear case for product labelling.
With Bill S-5 to reform the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, the federal government has an opportunity to meet or exceed its stated ambition on product labelling.
