About The Submission:
Environmental Defence’s submission to the United Nations about achieving Article 2, paragraph 1(c) of the global Paris Agreement (Article 2.1c) calls for new regulation and public policy to align private and public financial flows with a safe climate. Article 2.1c calls to make “finance flows consistent with a pathway towards low greenhouse gas emissions and climate-resilient development”. This submission offers specific recommendations to achieve that goal. Environmental Defence will participate in-person in the dialogue, known as the Sharm-el Sheikh dialogue, in July 2023.
