Environmental Defence is very supportive of the federal government developing and implementing regulations to reduce methane emissions in the oil and gas sector. We recommend a few amendments to the draft regulations, with a focus on maximizing cumulative emissions reductions to the 2025 target date and with an eye to increasing ambition beyond.
