About The Report:
Canada’s boreal forest stores twice as much carbon as the world’s oil reserves. Despite this climate value, more than 400,000 hectares of the forest is logged every year, producing significant carbon and leading to habitat loss. The Canadian logging industry has consistently downplayed its impact on the global climate. Without stronger regulations and incentives, and better carbon accounting, Canada’s logging industry will continue to undermine our climate goals.
