Event Details
Our latest report summarizes the serious negative environmental and social impacts of the oil sands tailings. It provides a new analysis of the unprecedented growth of tailings in Alberta’s oil sands, using satellite imagery to map the rapid growth of tailings “ponds” in the oil sands over 45 years from 1975 to 2020.
Join us on Facebook for a live Q & A this Friday with the report authors: Aliénor Rougeot (Climate and Energy Program Manager at Environmental Defence) and Gillian Chow-Fraser (Boreal Programs Manager, CPAWS Northern Alberta), as they go over the key findings of our latest analysis on the tailings ponds in the oil sands.
