EDC Experts Available to Comment on Major Projects Announcement in Edmonton
Toronto | Traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabeg, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat – On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Prime Minister Carney is expected to announce the first round of “Nation Building” projects considered by the Major Projects review process. Environmental Defence Canada (EDC) will have policy experts available to provide analysis and commentary on the expedited review process, carbon capture and storage, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and other proposed Major Projects.
Why This Matters:
Environmental Defence anticipates that several of the announced projects could compromise Canada’s ability to meet its climate targets under the Paris Agreement. Our experts can provide insight into the climate and environmental implications of these projects, as well as the government’s broader energy and climate policy direction.
