Madeleine Arseneau

Engagement Senior Coordinator

Madeleine’s love for the environment stems from spending summers by the water on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. This led to her pursuing an undergraduate degree in Geography and Masters in Capacity Development and Extension, both from the University of Guelph. While at school, she became a National Science and Engineering Research Council Climate-Smart Soils scholar where she researched capacity building and engagement approaches for farmers to adopt climate-smart soil practices on their farm. During her studies, she worked for Feeding 9 Billion and the Arrell Food Institute, and for Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association, where she developed educational content and engagement strategies for youth and the larger agricultural sector. She is proud and excited to be part of the Environmental Defence team and work towards positive changes for our environment.
