Tom is a global thought leader with a recognized record of extraordinary achievement in the promotion of a low carbon economy. He is the Managing Partner of ArcTern Ventures, serial entrepreneur, and Co-Developer of Planet Traveler, the “greenest hotel in North America.” In his spare time, he pens bestsellers including Kick the Fossil Fuel Habit (2010), Waking the Frog (2014), and soon to be released The Case for Climate Capitalism: Economic Solutions for a Planet in Peril. Tom holds a BASc in Electrical Engineering (University of Waterloo), MSc in Philosophy of Science (London School of Economics), and an MA and PhD in Philosophy (University of Toronto).
Renewable Energy | Indigenous Rights Advocate
Guy is an advocate for creating new economic opportunities in First Nation communities. As the Chief Executive Officer of First Nations Power Authority, he connects Indigenous and industry leaders in renewable and alternative energy development. He has served Saskatchewan First Nations in elected positions, administrative capacities, and as a private management consultant. Guy holds an Associate Degree in Business Management (San Diego, California) and a Masters of Business Administration in Community Economic Development (Cape Breton). His research in ‘Mobilizing Aboriginal Wealth: Development Corporations and the Prosperity Opportunity in Canada,’ serves to inform the First Nations, academic, and business community about emerging trends in Aboriginal economic development.
Policy Advocate | Clean Energy Lobbyist
Sarah is a passionate policy advocate with more than a decade of experience. As the Policy Director at Clean Energy Canada, she works with diverse stakeholders to lobby for policies to tackle climate change and support clean energy transitions, including testifying before regulatory and legislative bodies and providing commentary for media outlets. Sarah has held several senior positions with the Government of Ontario and was involved with the development and launch of the cap-and-trade program and Climate Change Action Plan. She is a board member of Blue Green Canada, a steering committee member of the Clean Economy Alliance, and holds a degree in political science specializing in public policy.
Environmental Journalist | Author
Adria Vasil is a Canadian environmental journalist and the author of the bestselling Ecoholic book series. She is known for her years as a NOW Magazine columnist, where she launched her Ecoholic column. Adria is currently the Managing Editor at Corporate Knights magazine, a sustainable business magazine circulated in the Globe & Mail and Washington Post. She writes regularly on sustainable business issues and her articles regularly appear in the Toronto Star. Adria has also been a lecturer at her alma mater, the Ryerson University School of Journalism.
