Toronto, Ont. – On Thursday February 27, Environmental Defence will host its 2020 Gala. The Gala will feature a conversation about the best path forward to transform our world in order to avert the impending climate crisis.

Tom Rand, author and clean-technology venture capitalist, will frame and kick-off a conversation based on his forthcoming book, The Case for Climate Capitalism: Economic Solutions for a Planet in Peril, which explores whether a radical rewire of global capitalism can solve the climate crisis.

The subsequent panel discussion will explore whether capitalism is dangerous and obsolete, or if it can be reformed and become an agent of society-saving change. Tim Gray, Executive Director of Environmental Defence, will moderate this discussion with: Tom Rand; Guy Lonechild, the CEO of First Nations Power Authority; and Sarah Petrevan, Policy Director at Clean Energy Canada.
