Toronto, ON – The debate about whether Canada has to choose a healthy environment or a strong economy will take center stage during ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENCE’s Annual Gala on February 18th.
As many commentators and government leaders are saying Canadians must pick one side over the other, Jeff Rubin, former Chief Economist of CIBC, and Tzeporah Berman, one of Canada’s most well-known environmentalists, will go head to head in a discussion about Canada’s clean economic future.

WHO: Jeff Rubin, former Chief Economist of CIBC, and Tzeporah Berman, a leading Canadian environmentalist will participate in a Green vs. Greenbacks debate. Don Ferguson from Royal Canadian Air Farce will emcee the event and Canadian musical icon Jim Cuddy will also perform.
WHAT: ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENCE’S Annual Gala is a fundraising event that brings together some of Canada’s most prominent environmentalists and supports Environmental Defence’s work to protect sources of drinking water and local food, reduce Canadians’ exposure to toxic chemicals, and promote a clean economy. This year’s Gala celebrates ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENCE’s 30 years of leading environmental change in Canada.
