Pickering, ON – Tonight a town hall will bring together a diverse group of experts to discuss threats to Ontario’s Greenbelt and how the Greenbelt can be strengthened, in light of the upcoming review of the provincial policy.
Moderated by Ajax Mayor Steve Parish, the town hall will feature Faisal Moola of David Suzuki Foundation, David Donnelly of Donnelly Law, Debbe Crandall of STORM Coalition, Ian McLaurin of the Ontario Soil Regulation Task Force, Susan Swail of Environmental Defence and Mary Delaney of Land over Landings.
The speakers will highlight threats to the Greenbelt, from the dumping of contaminated soil, to infrastructure like the proposed Pickering Airport which would pave over valuable agricultural land.
