Toronto, ON – An Environmental Defence spokesperson is available tomorrow to speak to the Regulatory Cooperation Council’s efforts to achieve greater alignment between Canada and the United States on toxic chemical regulations. While increased sharing and collaboration between the two countries could create a greater understanding about how toxic chemicals affect human health, there are concerns that Canadian toxics regulations could be weakened if regulations on both sides of the border are harmonized.
Environmental Defence will be one of the stakeholder groups attending the meeting regarding potential impacts to chemical regulations.
