Green Energy Act Alliance to Respond to Province’s Long-Term Energy Mix
TORONTO – Renewable energy experts from the Green Energy Act Alliance will be available to respond to the province’s long-term energy plan on Tuesday, November 23, 2010.
The alliance is comprised of farmers, workers, renewable energy investors, First Nations and environmentalists. It was instrumental in helping Ontario pass North America’s best renewable energy law.
Deb Doncaster, executive director, Community Power Fund (in person)
Dr. Rick Smith, executive director, Environmental Defence (by phone)
Approximately 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2010 (after the lock-up)
WHERE: Huron Room, 2nd floor, Macdonald Block, 900 Bay Street, Toronto
The alliance will be looking for a substantial commitment to renewable energy, which it sees as crucial to creating jobs and investing in rural and First Nations communities. More renewable energy is also needed to continue to close Ontario’s polluting coal-fired power plants.
