The David Suzuki Foundation released a report on Sept. 18, 2007 which outlines the need for Canada to address environmental hazards to human health. The report is called “Prescription for a Healthy Canada.”
Not only does Canada need to step up its efforts to protect people, but it lags behind other industrialized countries in this regard. The report gives five examples of ways that Canada has fallen behind including: 

Canada lacks legally binding national standards for air and drinking water quality.
Canada allows pesticides to be used that other countries have banned for health and environmental reasons.
