How does a wine bluff work?

It's kind of like a wine tasting meets Balderdash…

Everyone attending the event will be seated at tables of 8. There will be a panel of 3 people onstage who will lead the room in tasting 6 wines in turn. Each member of the panel will give a thorough description of the wine that they and the audience are drinking, and each table group has to guess which tasters are bluffing and which is telling the truth. Part of the fun comes from competing with the tables around you and, calling out the bluffers!

Bold faced lying, guessing on a whim, and pretending to know a lot more about wine than you actually do is highly encouraged.

Do I need to know a lot about wine?

No! In fact, the less you know, the more fun it may be! If you can you smell BS a mile away, this could be your moment to shine.

Where is the event?

The Wine Bluff is taking place at the Fermenting Cellar which is at 55 Mill Street in the Historic Distillery District in Toronto. Paid parking is available across the street, however if you plan to participate whole heartedly in the event, please don't drive. Taxis will be available.

What should I wear?

This event is business casual. However, depending on your wine knowledge or ability to spot a bluffer, you may need to wear your lucky game day socks.

Will there be food?

There won't be a meal per se, but there will be a lot of delicious local food to soak up all that delicious local wine.

Can I be seated at a table with my friends/contacts/co-workers?

If you purchase a table, you can of course invite whoever you'd like to sit with you!

Tickets purchased as multiples will be seated at the same table (e.g. if Jane Smith buys 4 tickets, all four will be at the same table).

If you have purchased an individual ticket, our friends are your friends! We encourage you to make some new friends at this event by leaving it to fate and our computers to decide where you sit! If however you prefer not go that route, please contact Janet at jpatterson@environmentaldefence.ca before June 21st and she will do her absolute best to accommodate your request.
