Johnson & Johnson to phase out harmful chemicals

After a two year campaign by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, asking Johnson & Johnson to remove formaldehyde-releasing ingredients from their products, there's good news for babies everywhere! Last week, Johnson & Johnson announced that they'll phase out the use of these ingredients.

This is a big success, demonstrating that consumers have the power to demand healthier products and win!

UK support mounts for banning hair dye ingredient

In October, Scottish teenager Tabatha McCourt died soon after applying hair dye. It is suspected that a reaction to the colourant PPD (P-Phenylenediamine) was the cause. In Canada, PPD is not permitted for use in make-up, but it is a common ingredient in hair dye.

Now consumers in the United Kingdom are questioning the use of PPD, and a Manchester lawyer has launched a campaign to have it taken off the shelves.
