Banning harmful chemicals We led the charge to ban a hormone-disrupting chemical, bisphenol A (BPA) in plastic baby bottles; after that success, we're now working to get BPA out of all food and beverage containers. |

Protecting green space Our work led to the creation of a 1.8 million acre greenbelt in Ontario. The Greenbelt, now seven years old, protects farmland, rivers and streams and environmentally-sensitive areas from urban development. |

Greening our power We worked with the Green Energy Act Alliance to get the groundbreaking Green Energy Act passed in Ontario. The Act, one of the best in the world, provides strong support for the creation of green power. |

Cleaning our beaches We work with communities all over Canada to improve the environmental quality and management of our beautiful beaches and marinas. A record number of sites have applied for the 2011 award, and soon we'll see the flag flying on both coasts and on many beaches in between. |

Greening our economy We partnered with the United Steelworkers to support the creation of good green jobs in the new clean energy economy. Blue Green Canada gets workers, businesses and governments focused on building a successful, sustainable economy. In Ontario, new jobs have already been created in Windsor, London, Mississauga, Burlington, and even more future jobs have been announced. |

Detoxing Canadians Thanks to our ongoing research more Canadians are paying attention to the toxins in personal care products, household items, and toys. They're reading labels, changing habits, and doing their best to avoid exposing their families to nasty chemicals. |
