Canatara Park Beach, Sarnia - Blue Flag Candidate


Canatara Beach is located on the shore of Lake Huron near the mouth of the St. Clair River in Sarnia. Canatara Beach is an urban beach located in the heart of the city. The sandy beach stretches nearly a kilometre along the shore. Lifeguarding services is provided at Canatara Beach and is patrolled by qualified lifeguards from June (3rd weekend) to end of August from 11am to 6 pm. There are washrooms and designated parking for people with disabilities. The beach is located in Canatara Park which is owned by the City of Sarnia and boasts over 84 acres of parkland. The park includes walking/biking trails, passive areas, picnic areas, forests, and so on. The park and beach area is located on the north end of Christina Street. Christina Street can be accessed from the 402 Highway.
