Bio:
Even as a kid, I was an avid, Captain Planet-watching environmentalist. I also had a long list of allergies, and was really sensitive to perfumes, to the point where I couldn't use mainstream soap because I'd break out in a rash. It wasn't until many years later when I started chatting with my colleagues in the environmental sector about specific ingredients in our personal care products, that it dawned on me: pollution isn't just smokestacks and litter anymore. It's the chemicals in our everyday surroundings, how they enter our bodies and get into ecosystems. I started learning more, changing my consumption habits, signing petitions, and telling friends.
Environmental problems can seem pretty huge on the whole, and I think it's important to break things down into more tangible, bottom-line issues, like impacts on health and economics. Having been a longtime fan of Environmental Defence's ability to do just that, when I saw this position come up, I jumped on it. And here I am.
