Looking to stock up on non-toxic beauty essentials for summer? It's time for another Eco-Beauty Market, presented by Environmental Defence
TORONTO, ON – Summer is upon us, and while we might feel the need to hide away from the sun's toxic rays, we shouldn't have to do so from our cosmetics. On May 30th, Environmental Defence will host its second eco-beauty market, where guests are invited to come sample and shop green cosmetic, skincare, and hair care products. Green beauty experts and hair and makeup artists will be on hand to give tips and tricks. And, there will be a place to drop toxic products for safe disposal.
With 17 companies and retailers participating, there'll be no shortage of skin friendly options, from face cream to nail polish to lip balm. Proceeds from the market will go to Environmental Defence, who successfully led the charge to get toxic bisphenol A (BPA) out of baby bottles in Canada, and aims to do the same with its Just Beautiful campaign to eliminate the toxic ten worst ingredients found in personal care products.

ABOUT THE JUST BEAUTIFUL CAMPAIGN: Environmental Defence's Just Beautiful campaign urges Canada to ban the known-to-be-harmful ingredients in personal care products and demand full ingredient disclosure of all products on Canadian shelves. We’re asking the federal government to ban the worst substances and make sure we know what's actually in our cosmetics so that we can all be Just Beautiful.
ABOUT THE JUST BEAUTIFUL COMPANY PLEDGE: Environmental Defence’s Just Beautiful Pledge exists so that consumers can make informed decisions about the products they buy and to promote the good work of manufacturers and retailers making and/or selling products that are free of Environmental Defence's Toxic Ten ingredients. Environmental Defence has developed a set of benchmarks and tools to meet this pledge.
