CARPE SHUCK ‘EM! This year’s Ontario Oyster Festival, taking place this Sunday and in support of Environmental Defence, pays tribute to the ancient Romans and their love of the oyster! Organizers say it’s a toga party unlike any other and includes the 27th Annual Shucking Competition, chariot races, lobster boil, live music and a whole lotta shuckin’ fun! Here’s your chance to watch Ontario’s best oyster shuckers in action and celebrate oyster culture, all in support of Environmental Defence, Rodney’s Oyster House’s charitable partner for 27 years. To date, they’ve raised over $100,000.
Tickets are $33 (in advance per person or $40 at the gate) and includes 2 drinks and a plate of 5 oysters or chili.
Festivities start at 2 p.m., in the laneway besides Rodney’s Oyster House, 469 King St. W.
