John Podesta, former Chief of Staff to U.S. President Clinton, speaks to Ontario opinion leaders about the global race towards clean energy on July 13 in Toronto: Ontario urged to maintain its leadership and not be left behind in the race for jobs and investment
Toronto, ON – On Wednesday, July 13, John Podesta, President and CEO of the Center for American Progress, former Chief of Staff to U.S. President Clinton and a key figure in the drive for clean energy jobs in the U.S. will lead a discussion about how Ontario and other jurisdictions should be positioning themselves to take advantage of the global clean energy revolution.
At the event, Podesta will urge Ontario to maintain its leadership as a key global player with the Green Energy Act, creating thousands of jobs, and building a local renewable industry, and addressing the urgency of climate change.
“The world has entered into a global race to develop renewable energy, with Europe, the U.S. and China now competing to capture a piece of this multi-trillion dollar market,” said Podesta. “Ontario is positioning itself as a leader in the clean energy race, but the question now is whether or not that leadership will continue.”
